By: Catherine ShawThis is a community bike ride hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), with the goal of strengthening and supporting the mental health of women and their families. CMHA rides will be hosted in four provinces in 20 communities with the aim to engage over 3,600 participants and raise $800,000.

Each community event is a ride, not a race, for riders of all ages and abilities—from novice rider to the advanced cyclist.  Regardless of distance, cyclists will travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, water to fuel the journey, and fans to cheer them on! In addition to the enjoying the physical and mental health benefits of physical activity, riders help break the stigma associated with mental illness by joining the Ride Don’t Hide community.

All three routes (10, 20, and 60K) start from Swangard Stadium, Burnaby, go through the streets of Vancouver and Richmond (60km only) and back to Swangard. Most portions of all all three rides follow established city bike routes.

Cost is $35 for adults, free for accompanied children under 13 (add shirt $10).

Cost includes:

Technical shirt
On site bike mechanic support (pre-ride)
Bike valet services (post-ride). (bring a bike lock for per-ride locking up)
Healthy breakfast and Vahoutte Coffee.
