Climate Solutions Tour

By: Wilderness CommitteeJoin us for our annual Climate Solutions Tour in Vancouver! This year we'll be visiting the SE False Creek Neighbourhood Energy Utility, which provides waste heat from sewage to local buildings, the Mountain Equipment Co-op headquarters, a green building with many features to lower its carbon footprint, and Sole Food Farms, an urban farming operation that shows food can be grown even in a major city. But first we'll start with a briefing from the City of Vancouver's Climate Policy manager to show us the policy context in which all these wonderful initiatives are possible.

We'll meet at 10:45 a.m. on the front steps of Vancouver City Hall. Bring your bikes as we'll be using the city's extensive network of bike lanes to get to our destinations. Please only RSVP if you're able to be there as we need to know numbers for the tour!

This event takes place on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish peoples.

Accessibility info: There will be short, flat bike rides between stops on the tour. Our tour of the Neighbourhood Energy Utility will also involve stairs.
