“Christmas in July,… err August” Bike Light Ride!

"Christmas in July,... err August" Bike Light Ride!

Friday, August 9, 2013, 7:45pm - 10:15pm. 7:45 to decorate bike, Ride leaves at 8:30 sharp as sun goes down!

Meet At:

Olympic Village Square
Notes: Right by the giant bird, look for cycling Santa.
By: Santa SteveHo! Ho! Ho!  Join Santa on a ride around False Creek, English Bay, Vanier Park, and a bit of downtown.

WE will light the city with not only our mandatory headlights and tail lights, but by making our bikes into a giant snake of battery powered holiday lights (holiday costumes welcome).

Velopalooza has given me a budget to augment all attending with xmas lights, LED water bottle globalls, garland, glowsticks and more!  (but be creative and bring your own lights and ideas to stand out!)

7:45 bike decorating workshop (get your free lights and attach them)
8:30... we ride!

Bring - a helmet, your bike, front and rear lights, and all the craziest Griswold Xmas lights you can attach and power safely on your bike.
Wear - Elf, Santa, Reindeer or any other holiday characters optional. (idea: light your helmet!)

FREE, all welcome, slow pace, crossing Burrard bridge is the only significant hill.

This is a great idea!!! I heard about it from a friend. I’ll be there (I’m hoping with a couple of other friends). Looking forward to it!

Just be sure to light up your bikes, the size of this group is getting big and the whole impact comes from us being a complete eyesore!
