By: Eric DohertyLearn about Vancouver’s successful freeway revolt of the 60s and early 70s from transportation planner Eric Doherty. As we head east we also move from the walking city in Strathcona / Chinatown to streetcar suburbs and discuss how citizen action, public transit, walking and cycling has shaped our city.

The tour will end near the site of the present day Highway 1 freeway widening, one of the key locations in the present day freeway revolt against the Gateway freeway megaproject. Beer and climate justice discussion after is a possibility.
